23 April 2024
The NGOs and CSOs Solidaridad, Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade Advocacy Office, and Fairtrade have just published their latest paper “Supporting the implementation of the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive in global supply chains involving smallholders and their communities”.
This paper is targeted at lawmakers in the European Commission, the European Parliament and in European Member States, urging them to support their groundbreaking Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive with accompanying measures that can ensure that the smallholder producers at the start of many global value chains are provided with the right information, resources and support needed to thrive. This advice offers a pathway for achieving living incomes, living wages and balance with nature through an inclusive and effective CSDDD.
This paper has the support of 40 producer organizations and NGOs operating in the Global South and in the regions set to be most effected by the CSDDD.
