Supporting Social Inclusion in Emission Reduction Programme

Solidaridad and Tropenbos Ghana have developed an Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) to guide implementation of the Ghana EnABLE project. The framework provides a systematic method for addressing environmental and social risks. It sets forth procedures for evaluating sub-projects, classifying potential impacts, and implementing strategies to reduce or mitigate adverse effects.

Additionally, the framework offers guidelines for integrating environmental and social management requirements into every phase of the project implementation, from initial planning to final execution. This ensures that the project aligns with both national regulations and international standards, such as those set by the World Bank.

Furthermore, the framework outlines the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project’s lifecycle.

The Environmental and Social Management Framework is a vital instrument for ensuring that the project achieves its objectives while upholding environmental integrity and social equity.
