Nico Roozen, Solidaridad Network’s executive director, has written an open letter to the Solidar NGO network with a reaction on their campaign against Nespresso. Roozen argues that the fair trade movement, including Solidar but also Solidaridad, should learn form initiatives like Nespresso instead of attacking it. Roozen indicates that the Fair Trade label cannot add the same or a better value to the farmers than the value that Nespresso adds. Roozen asks for value based systems instead of the current rules based systems for promoting sustainable and fair commodity chains. Please read the complete letter to Solidar below.
