Solidaridad’s programme recognises that smallholders need to be better organised to create cost-efficient sugar-value chains and be supported to influence the industry so that equitable, transparent partnerships are established that meet their needs. Partnerships with key private sector stakeholders such as Illovo have and continue to be crucial for the successful implementation of innovative approaches and adaptation of digital solutions to the local sugarcane sector.
